  Excellent program & staff for adults and kids. I started the Tracy’s Kenpo Karate Troy program in January of 2012 at the age of 55 and I’m still at it at 62. The program and staff are exceptional. Each student gets a private, 30-minute, one-on-one lesson and all are encouraged to participate in age-appropriate group sessions (separate sessions for adults & kids). There is no contract (you pay by the month) and there are NO testing fees. When you are ready to test, you test. If you know the material, you pass. This school is not a place to “buy a belt”. The program has high standards and if a student doesn’t show the expected level of competence, he or she gets more practice and then retests. Tests include self defense techniques; katas (set patterns of attacks and defensive moves); and foundational strikes, blocks and kicks. Tests are comprehensive - requiring students to demonstrate competency in the new material as well as previous belt requirements. The staff takes a direct interest in their students and their personal development. The school has been very flexible in accommodating my business schedule.
